Cafes and Restaurants and Clubs

Bundaberg’s popular seafood market and restaurant Grunskes by the river has restaurant meals for takeaway. Grunskes are in Petersen Street. Phone 07 41522722.

Kacys, Bargara’s popular restaurant overlooking the Pacific is open. Make sure you phone 4130 1100 to make a booking as numbers are limited. Try one of their wines from the upstairs cellar!!!

Enjoy the tastes of India and Thailand at Spicy Tonight an authentic Thai and Indian Restaurant in the old bank building on corner of Targo and Quay Streets on the river. Open for sit-down meals. Lunch 11 am to 2pm Monday to Saturday and for dinner every night from 5 to 8.30. Numbers are limited so make sure you phone first at 4154 3320. Takeaways are available.

Australian Seafood.com has a wide variety of seafood, prawns, bugs, scallops, squid, cuttlefish and sand crabs to takeaway. Open Monday to Friday 9 to 4 at Port Bundaberg. Phone 4159 4192.

Places to visit and trips

Visit the Great Barrier Reef on a day tour with Lady Musgrave Cruises. Go scuba diving, snorkelling, see the coral from the glass bottom boat, enjoy a guided island walk. Departs Bundaberg Port Marina every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Adults $220, family passes available. Phone 4151 5225. You can go Whale Watching from Bundaberg Port Marina. Trips are planned for Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Departing at 10 am and returning at 2pm. These dates and times are subject to change because of tides and weather. The last whale watch trip this year will be in early October.

                                      The most northerly surf beach in Australia is at Agnes Water.

Bundaberg is one of the biggest growers of Macadamia nuts in the world. You can buy locally grown Macadamias in a variety of flavours direct from the farm. Whale Watching

From Bundaberg They go where-ever the whales are! Trips on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from 10 to 2. Last one for the year in early October.
